Tom's Burgers & Grill is an engineer's dream that has become reality. Tom Jones, an UT Arlington graduate, graduated first in his class and with Honors in Mechanical Engineering. If you know Tom, you know that he is many things - a Husband, Father, and Entrepreneur.
Tom's Burgers & Grill was born in June of 2006, when Tom became restless in his sales/engineering job and came to the realization that he wanted more than what a traditional engineering job could offer. So he put his degree to work for him and engineered the perfect burger. Tom and his wife, Jessica spent months taste testing top burgers from all over the Metroplex to the point that Jessica refused to eat another one. It was from these burgers that the key ingredients were chosen that has made customers dub Tom's: "Home of the Best Burgers in Town". Tom also spent this time volunteering, and for six weeks flipped burgers and dropped fries at the well-known Club Schmitz in Dallas just to learn how things are run.
Tom's precise eye for detail has carried over into creating a unique and diverse menu that suites even the pickiest of tastes. He has guided every detail of the restaurant, from modifying the open grill that cooks all our steaks, chicken, and burgers, to smoke pecan wood underneath, to creating the recipes of everything from the spicy onion ring dipping sauce to the Chicken Fried Steak. The very unique Chicken Fried Steak, which is rapidly gaining popularity, is hand battered in potato chips and secret seasonings then deep fried to a golden brown.
Tom and Jessica have two young sons that have become a fixture with the regulars that come into the restaurant. While most times you will find Tom in the window of the kitchen, Jessica primarily takes care of all the behind-the-scenes work, as well as taking care of both boys. You can usually find her working on the weekends, and covering any last minute shift changes.
